“Do ye not remember that I said unto you, that after ye had received the Holy Ghost, ye could speak with the tongue of angels?” (2 Ne 14:2, 1990 In. Ed.)
We extend Christ into the world by following Him
After we have been baptized and been given the Spirit we must become witnesses. We extend Christ into the world by following Him. We are to continue to read the Word of God and pray always in the name of Christ, asking for God to bless all our activities done for Him. The major satisfaction in life is the presence of the Holy Ghost with us. “I am with you,” God told Israel. Now He says, “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:20 KJV)
We are to make disciples of all men everywhere, beginning where we are, in our homes. We are told that great joy shall be ours if we can help save even just one soul. Our lives become a means to glorify God and serve Him. Our careers become opportunities for service to God and to others. Marriage becomes a joint effort in making a home or family for the extension of God’s Kingdom and safe haven for believers. Career is not the goal and marriage is not the end, but the means of fulfilling the will of a benevolent being who sent His Son to die for our sins on a cruel cross.
This begs a question for modern Church of Christ members and for all Christians everywhere. Is there a connection between broken homes with a lost purpose for our lives? Have some departed from following Jesus as His disciples and begun to follow the idols of the world, earthly love and wealth? What did Jesus say?… “seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33)
You can speak with the tongue of angels! When the main focus of our lives is God’s Word and His will, He adds peace to our souls and contentment to our career goals and home lives. Angels speak the words of Christ. Peace on earth and good will toward men. The world is starving for this blessing and your neighbor or child needs to be fed the good will of God. God is love. Christ is both Lord and Savior. Lord of our lives. He is King of kings, nations, tribes, races, families, marriages and careers. Let Him rule in your life through your firm will and steadfast loyalty. Amen and amen.
Speak the words of angels. In your homes, do you sit down at the table and always pray in Christ’s name? Do you settle disputes among your children with the scriptures? Do you bless your church family with your good will toward them and your firm testimony? Do you go out of your way to visit the sick? Affirm the weak? Help the elderly? Be a father to the fatherless? Patient with those who are out of God’s way and impatient with you? Do you call all near you to a higher level and then wait patiently as Jesus Himself waits for you?
Worry, sorrow, pain and strife shall be no more! However, today these things still exist; what have you done about them?
Speak the words of angels and God will speak to you! Oh, how we long for that great day when we will sit in His presence and experience His Glory! Worry, sorrow, pain and strife shall be no more! However, today these things still exist; what have you done about them? What actions of yours have shown that you care about the spiritual needs of others? We cannot be afraid to burden our children with the weight of the Church and ministering to the needs of others. When we pass on the Fullness of the Gospel to others, even with all its responsibilities, then God is with us until the end of the world. Speak and pass on your hope of eternal life and a better country when Jesus comes again. We shall come in the clouds and those who remain shall meet all the saints from the beginning. Was this hope not first declared by angels?
“… behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:10-11)
This message belongs to you. The ministering of angels is given to you. You have the calling to speak the words of angels! However, be prepared to carry the cross of Jesus when you do, for all people will not believe your words. They will doubt your actions and motives. Some will curse you and try to destroy you. Then is when we must remember that, God is Love… but that is another subject.
