The Zion’s Advocate has been in publication continuously since April 11, 1921 by Church of Christ conference action. The motion which put this publication into existence was a simple one: “moved and seconded that we favor the publication of a paper in the interest of the Church of Christ.”
So, for nearly 100 years the Church of Christ has been engaged in publishing articles to accomplish that very goal, to advocate for the cause of Jesus Christ through the fullness of His gospel.
The Church of Christ (Temple Lot), with headquarters in Independence, Missouri was established through revelation of God, prophesied in both the Bible and Book of Mormon. It is patterned as Christ intended and set forth in the New Testament- Christ at the head, 12 Apostles with oversight of the Church, Evangelists, Elders, Priests and Teachers. We believe and hold to the King James 1611 edition of the Holy Bible, and the 1908 and 1990 edition of the Book of Mormon. We have locals and missions throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Honduras, Philippines, India, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania and Ethiopia. The work is going forward and I am excited that the Zion’s Advocate is able to reach farther than could have been imagined at its inception nearly 100 years ago.
